We are starting a 4 week step challenge on Monday 8th March. This is aimed at motivating people who have maybe let their exercise routine slip, but is open to anyone. Each week we will add something new to the challenge like a workout or nutrition task.
There are 3 levels in the step challenge and it is based on your own level of fitness starting off.
Level 1: 6,000 Steps per day
Level 2: 8,000 Steps per day
Level 3: 10,000 Steps per day.
Hopefully by the end of the challenge those in levels 1 and 2 will be able to increase up a level. You don’t need to sign up to do the challenge but if you like you could choose a local charity and try and raise some funds for them to help keep you motivated. So, all you need to start the challenge is any device that counts steps. Upload your steps each day to Facebook or Instagram and tag @feldafitness to help keep you accountable. If you’re not on Social Media that’s OK, just make a record of them yourself to keep track. Remember steps can be counted from your everyday routine and not just from going for a walk or run.
There are many health benefits of having an active lifestyle and daily activity such as…
  • help increase feelings of happiness and decrease feelings of depression, anxiety and stress
  • help reduce risk of a heart attack.
  • manage weight better.
  • lower blood cholesterol level.
  • lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and some cancers.
  • lower blood pressure.
  • stronger bonesmuscles and joints and lower risk of developing osteoporosis.
  • increase energy levels
If you are new to exercise, have any medical conditions or injuries make sure to contact your GP before starting any exercise program. If you choose to participate in this ‘4 Week Step Challenge’ you do so at your own risk. Make sure to warm up well before starting and to cool down after.
